Description

Abiracine (Abiraterone Acetate tablet) used to treat prostate cancer. It belongs to a class of drugs known as androgen biosynthesis inhibitors. These drugs work by restructuring the anti-testosterone activity and help stop the proliferation of cancer cells. It is important that you take one of the Abiracine tablets prescribed by your doctor. Usage of Abiracine (Abiraterone Acetate tablet)

Abiracine is a cancer drug and it blocks the activity of an enzyme (CYP17) that is responsible for producing androgens. This helps slow down the proliferation of cancer cells. Don’t get the wrong Abiracine tablets as they can cause serious side effects. It is recommended that you do not change your regular dosing schedule without taking your doctor’s advice. Follow your doctor’s instructions to avoid further complications. Store this medication at room temperature and protect it from heat and humidity.

Pharmacodynamics

Abiraterone acetate tablet has been associated with decreased PSA (prostate specific antigen) levels, tumor shrinkage (according to RECIST criteria), radiographic regression of bone metastases, and increased pain. It is selectively and irreversibly inhibits CYP17, an enzyme required for androgenic biosynthesis and is expressed in testicular, adrenal and prostate tumor tissue. Inhibits the formation of the precursors of testosterone dehydroepiandrosterone and androstenedione.
